My name is Alexandra Ganea. Architecture is, for me, a form of intelligent play with space – a combination of intuition, analysis, and emotion. I am passionate about the process of shaping spatial experiences and exploring how function, aesthetics, and emotion can coexist within a coherent project. I am motivated, attentive to detail, and eager to contribute to projects that value the human experience through thoughtful design.
My portfolio includes several designs that showcase my ability to balance functionality, aesthetics and a sensitive understanding of urban contexts.

This paper examines the relationship between the historic “carpet-like” urban fabric of the protected Galata area in Istanbul and the potential for contemporary architectural interventions. Positioned between cultural heritage and the creative industry, it explores how a fashion house can be integrated into a dense, layered context without losing or altering its character. The study argues that historic urban environments require more than preservation—they call for reinterpretation, activation, and continuity. In this framework, the Galata Fashion House is understood not only as a building, but as an active expression of Istanbul’s creative evolution, contributing both to heritage valorization and to the city’s role in contemporary fashion. This research forms the theoretical and analytical foundation that supports the diploma project.
